How can you move forward if you are holding yourself back?
The first step I took was to identify a fear and confront it.
As an occupational therapist trained in psychology, I use non verbal communication with my patients to express their feelings and needs.
The subconscious mind doesn’t lie, so I use drawing/art and writing to let this part of me shine through.
I believe we can become greater beings by releasing our tethers and focus on a mission driven life.
1: Try writing down on top of a tether the things that you feel are holding you back from achieving a better life.
2: Then write a list of positive character traits, attributes and skills that you are proud of.
3: Then say a grateful affirmation on each positive character trait/ skill. Visualize yourself in that character state. It is a scientific fact that you can change the structure of your brain through physical actions and thoughts over months of neuronal reinforcement.
It is Ok to be angry, it’s not Ok to stay angry. As I’ve seen in my patients, angry adults make sick angry and isolated older adults. Use the initial anger to motivate yourself to take action against the perceived tethers. Write your positive traits in large words and simple pictures bigger than the tether words.
It is important that you focus on an action to overcome the tether. 1 action for each tether. NOW you are an active problem solver not a passive receiver. Go to bed preparing the subconscious to bring clarity to your tether.
Sleep with the knowing:
“I am receiving all I need to take positive steps forward to release this tether”
